Greg Cooper has appeared as an entertainer on NBC TV'S “Tonight Show”, starring Johnny Carson, and “Showtime at the Apollo”. He has opened the show for James Brown, “the Godfather of Soul”, Wilson Pickett, B.B. King, and Bobby Blue Bland, at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. He has opened for Gene Chandler and Chuck Jackson at the Takoma Theater in Washington, D.C.
Greg Cooper is a native of Washington, D.C. He was educated in the D.C. Public School System and still resides in the Metropolitan DC area. Greg's career as an entertainer began when he was very young. His parents encouraged his career, but always reminded him of the importance of getting a good education.
Greg has been described as a multi-talented, versatile entertainer who sings, dances, and does a wide range of impressions of famous personalities. He has been described as mixing comedy with singing and performing exaggerated covers of soul classics. He has been known as the “Godfather of Comedy” and his unique vocal impressions. Greg has been noted for delivering a witty, occasionally scatological monologue incorporating dead-on impressions of a pantheon of famous singers. He has been referred to as a dynamic, outstanding impressionist, stand-up comedian, and lead singer for his own band. Greg has been defined as a spectacular, spellbinding performer. He has been called, “the man with a million voices”.
Early Career:
Greg Cooper's career started at the age of 8 or 9 years old. He started performing at Christmas shows, had his first band in Jr. High School, and worked for the D.C. Department of Recreation's showmobile. At a young age, he did his first television show with Petey Greene and Dewey Hughes. Greg has a vast knowledge and an immeasurable amount of experience in the entertainment business.
